He was born as Timothy Mark Vine on March 4, 1967 in Cheam, Surrey, England to Guy Vine and Diana Tillett.
He has an elder brother named, Jeremy Vine, who is an author and journalist with the BBC.
He began his career in stand-up comedy in the mid-1990s. He made regular appearances on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was also seen on the shows like ‘The Tim Vine Shambles’ and ‘The Tim Vine Fiasco’.
In 1997, he became the presenter of the Channel 5 game show, ‘Whittle' , which ran for a total of two years. He presented all the episodes of the show.
From 2001, he began acting on the British television sketch comedy show, ‘The Sketch Show’, which was broadcast on ITV. The show ran for the next three years.
In 2003, he was a celebrity participant on the French game show, ‘Fort Boyard'. The following year, he was seen as the presenter of the television show, ‘Fort Boyard takes on the World'.
In 2005, he made a guest appearance on the game show, ‘Spelling Bee'. The following year, he appeared on the BBC TV comedy sitcom, ‘Not Going Out’, which ran for 42 episodes.
In 1995, he received the Perrier Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
In 2010, he won a prize for the category of 'the funniest joke of that year' at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
In 2011, he won a prize for the category of ‘second funniest joke' at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
