Susan Sullivan began her acting career in the 1960s when she appeared in the Broadway play ‘Jimmy Shine’ starring opposite Dustin Hoffman. In 1970, she was cast as Nancy Condon in the series ‘A World Apart’. From 1971 to 1976, she played Lenore Moore Curtin Delaney in the soap opera ‘Another World’. During this time, she also guest-starred in a number of TV programs, including ‘Medical Center’, ‘McMillan & Wife’, ‘Petrocelli’, ‘Kojak’ and ‘Bert D'Angelo/Superstar’. Sullivan next had a role in the series ‘Rich Man, Poor Man Book II’.

In 1977, she played the role of a gynecologist in the TV movie ‘Having Babies II’. Soon after this, the actress got featured in the TV movie ‘The New Maverick’. From 1980 to 1981, she appeared as Lois Adams in the series ‘It's a Living’. After this, she joined the team of ‘Falcon Crest’ as Maggie Gioberti Channing.
