Sunny Hostin was born as Asunción Cummings on October 20, 1968 in New York City, New York, USA, to William Cummings and Rosa Beza. She was raised in the Bronx, New York City and attended the all-girls Dominican Academy. She then studied at the Binghamton University and obtained her undergraduate degree in communications from there. Later, she received her law degree from the Notre Dame Law School.
Talking about Hostin’s love life, she married orthopaedic doctor Emmanuel Hostin in 1998. The couple has two kids, Gabriel and Paloma. The family currently lives in Purchase, New York. Sunny Hostin is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She is active on social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Sunny Hostin started her law career as a clerk to Robert M. Bell, a retired Chief Judge of Maryland Court of Appeals. Later, she served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. After leaving the division, she became a federal prosecutor dealing with child sex crimes. Hostin then joined Court TV and started her television career as a commentator.
Soon after this, she appeared on the Fox News show ‘The O'Reilly Factor’ where she regularly debated with Megyn Kelly and Bill O'Reilly. In September 2007, the American lawyer was signed by CNN as the legal analyst for the network’s show ‘American Morning’. Then in 2014, she frequently appeared as a guest contributor on ABC’s talk show ‘The View’. Two years later, she joined ABC News as the Senior Legal Correspondent and analyst. Hostin also became the permanent co-host of ‘The View’ for its twentieth season.
