Sung Joon was born as Bang Sung-joon on July 10, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea. His family background, education, parents’ names and other personal details are not available to the media. However, it is known that the actor has immense talent in creating sculptures and in modern dance. He loves reading and photography. Sung Joon is close friends with actors Lee Soo Hyuk, Hong Jong Hyun, Kim Young Kwang and Kim Woo Bin.
Once it was in the news that Sung Joon was dating Suzy, a member of the music group Miss A. But both of them denied the rumor by saying that they are just co-workers and good friends.
Sung Joon made his acting debut in 2011 by appearing in the drama TV series ‘White Christmas’. He also did the drama ‘Lie to Me’ and the variety show ‘Show! K Music’ that year. A year later, he did the flick ‘Dangerously Excited’ as well as the television programs ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’, ‘Drama Special – Wetlands Ecology Report’ and ‘Can We Get Married?’ Around this time, Sung Joon also contributed to the tracks ‘Jaywalking,’ ‘Wake Up’, ‘Words You Shouldn't Know’ and ‘Today.’
