Stephanie March was born on July 23, 1974, in Dallas, Texas to John Abe March and Laura Len. She has a sister, Charlotte March. She did her early education from McCulloch Middle School in Highland Park and Highland Park High School, and later graduated from Northwestern University. She was a member of ‘Kappa Alpha Theta’ sorority at the Northwestern University.

Personal Life

March met celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the sets of his food shows and later married him in 2005. The duo separated in March 2015 and divorced in July the same year. They have a daughter, Sophie Flay. Later in September 2017, she married Dan Benton. March had described her experience with breast augmentation surgery in 2014 and the removal of her implants due to infection, through an essay.

Stephanie March made her acting debut on television in an episode of the CBS series, ‘Early Edition’ back in 1997. Two years later she moved to New York and made her first Broadway appearance in the critically acclaimed production of Arthur Miller's ‘Death of a Salesman’. She performed alongside Brian Dennehy as the show’s lead artistes. She also acted in the TV movie version of the play having the same title in 2000.

In her theater career, March has performed in many stage shows like Eric Bogosian's ‘Talk Radio’ and Howard Korder's ‘Boy's Life’. In these two productions, she had performed alongside popular artists like Liev Schreiber and Jason Biggs. March made her film debut in 2003 in a political satire ‘Head of State’, appearing opposite ‘Chris Rock’. Later she appeared in ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’, an action movie featuring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2005. Her other movies include romantic comedies ‘Falling for Grace’ and ‘The Treatment’ in 2006.

She also played a role in the movie ‘The Invention of Lying’ in 2009 where she played the role of a woman the character played by Ricky Gervais wants to have sex with. Her biggest project on television so far was playing the role ‘Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot’ on the NBC crime-legal drama series, ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. Even after her departure from the show, she made several comebacks due to the circumstances of the storyline. She also reprised her role of ‘Alexandra Cabot’ on the short-lived NBC courtroom drama ‘Conviction’, though her character on the show was the ‘Bureau Chief ADA’ of the homicide bureau.
