Sophie Colquhoun was born and raised in the UK. In 2005, she completed a course in fine art foundation from the renowned Central St. Martin College of Arts. She also studied acting with Peter Cregeen, the famous British TV director, producer, and executive, who is well-appreciated for being the original director of ‘The Bill’, a police drama. Additionally, in 2006-2007, she enrolled for a drama foundation course in RADA and also attended a site-specific workshop at Prima del Teatro, along with Charlotte Munkso in Italy. Sophie Colquhoun has a penchant for learning new languages and she is fluent in French and Spanish. Her hobbies and interests include open water diving, horse riding, and riding motorbikes. She has also assisted Riding for the Disabled. It is evident that Sophie has an interesting personality! One lesser known fact about her is that she once worked as an associate photographer to Tim Flach. In spite of her increasing popularity, Sophie likes to lead a private life away from all the media chaos. She is not married yet and her dating history is also kept personal.
Sophie Colquhoun has come a long way in her career in the film and entertainment industry, and has repeatedly proved her worth with good acting and destroyed any criticism regarding her being “just another pretty blonde” in the field. Apart from having a well-maintained figure and a stylish stance, she is not only quirky and witty, but also the heart and soul of the film sets and the glamor parties. Her stunning photoshoot for ‘Teen Vogue’ has got her fans crazy in admiration for her. Her role in the ‘Come Dine with Me’ episode (series 2, episode 5) of the highly acclaimed UK comedy show, ‘PhoneShop’ has made us adore her superb acting as a comedian, in spite of her not being tagged as one. In this show, she played the part of a daughter of a white gentleman who strangely wishes to be a part of the Jamaican culture and hence, became a constant cause of embarrassment for the daughter. The British sitcom, ‘PhoneShop’, was first aired on Channel 4 in 2009 and was soon peaking high on the popularity charts in the UK and worldwide.
In 2011, Sophie Colquhon portrayed Bonnie in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ which is a superhero film based on a secret Nazi organization that attempts to misuse technology for their own benefit. Her role as Gemma in the episodes (namely ‘Unmask Her Beauty to the Moon’, ‘Sweet, Not Lasting’, ‘We Are Pictures, or Mere Beasts’, and ‘Infants of the Spring’) of ‘The Royals’ is pretty seductive as in her very first scene she wore a lacy outfit to attract the Prince’s attention. In 2013, she played the part of Cynthia in the TV show called ‘Plebs’ portraying a simple-minded girl trying to carve a niche in the theatre industry during the old times in Rome. She had Lydia Rose Bewley as a co-star in the series. Moreover, her other sitcom characters of Pip in ‘Rev’ (Episode: Jesus is Awesome) in 2010, Caz in ‘Fresh Meat’ in 2011, Kim in ‘Law and Order’ (Episode: Fatherly Love) in 2013 and Helen Walker in ‘Death in Paradise’ in 2014 were much appreciated by the viewers.
