Sheree Elizabeth Zampino was born on November 16, 1967, in New York, USA. Her father, Les Zampino, worked in a theater company in Schenectady, New York, while her mother worked at a financial organization. Her parents later got divorced, following which she started living with her father. She completed her graduation from Fashion Institute of Technology and also studied business as she always wanted to have her own fashion accessories line.
She met actor Will Smith in 1991, while visiting a mutual friend on the set on the television series, ‘A Different World’. She was pursuing a fashion design course at the time. The two got married on May 9, 1992, and she gave birth to their only child, Willard Christopher Smith III, also known as Trey, six months later on November 11, 1992. The couple eventually divorced three years later, on December 10, 1995. In 1998, Smith dedicated the single ‘Just the Two of Us’ to their child Trey, who also stars alongside the actor in the music video of the song. She and Smith are still friends and are often appear beside their son Trey.
She married former NFL running back and Pastor Terrell Fletcher on May 26, 2007. After her marriage to him, she became the First Lady of the City of Hope International, and also served as the director of the ‘Women on the Wall Ministries’. They have a daughter named Jodie. However, her second marriage didn’t last for a long time either; the two divorced in 2014, citing irreconcilable differences, following which she asked for spousal support.
Despite her own achievements, Sheree Zampino is best known as the first wife of actor Will Smith, with whom she was involved in the early 1990s. Her marriage to him catapulted her to fame long before she had established herself as an actress or businesswoman. Passionate about fashion since she was a child, she attended Fashion Institute of Technology and studied business with the goal of having her own fashion business. She moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to pursue a career as a fashion designer. In the early 2000s, she ventured into acting with a few short films, and made occasional guest appearances on television shows. Following an appearance on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in 2010, she was selected as one of the main casts of the VH1 reality TV series, ‘Hollywood Exes’ in 2012, which made her a celebrity in her own right.
Sheree Zampino, who was married to Pastor Terrell Fletcher in 2012, was criticized for appearing in the reality television show ‘Hollywood Exes’ as some thought that the wife of a full-time minister should not engage in such activities.
In January 2016, the now-deceased American actress, Alexis Arquette claimed on social media that Will Smith’s first marriage to Zampino ended after she caught him on bed with Hollywood manager Benny Medina, sparking rumors that the actor is secretly gay. A couple days later, Zampino posted a video on her Facebook page, criticizing Arquette for spreading malicious rumors about people she doesn’t even know, and also came to her ex-husband’s defense saying that her marriage to him did not end for his infidelity, but because she was unhappy. Arquette had also claimed that Zampino was paid by Smith to keep his secret, which she refuted strongly, saying that she has never been paid for hiding anything. She then went on to state that Smith was straight in 1995, and he is so now. She then shamed her for causing emotional damage to Smith’s son with her, Trey, as well as his two children with his current wife Jada.
