Shelby Church

Shelby Church was born on February 10, 1995, in Washington. Her twin sister, Monica, is also a YouTuber and owns two channels. One of her channels ‘hairodynamic’ is quite popular. Shelby’s father is a former basketball coach and also taught history in a high school.

Shelby is a coffee addict. She started having coffee when she was studying in her sixth grade. One of her wishes is to try out all the adventure sports available. She also wants to go on a world tour. Shelby loves photography and aspires to become a filmmaker. She hates country music.

Right from her childhood, Shelby was considered a tomboy by her friends. She was never into makeup or any hair care regime, and focused on sports. She has been practicing gymnastics for a long time now and also swims regularly. Unlike her twin sister, Monica, Shelby never bothered about her looks and her tresses.

Things started to change when Shelby stepped into her teens. Indulging in sports and swimming took a toll on her skin and hair. She then began to invest her time in skin and hair care. It was around this time that Shelby focused more on her looks as she wanted to look more presentable. All these factors convinced Shelby that she too, can be a fashion and beauty vlogger just like her sister.

On June 12, 2009, Shelby created her YouTube channel, ‘teenmakeuptips.’ But she did not post any video as she was unsure about the content. She was not finding anything interesting to post. Two months later, she finally uploaded her first video titled, ‘Follow Me Around: Gymnastics Practice.’ The video was a short clip of her gymnastics practice.

The next video that she posted was a proper vlog. Shelby posted a full-length video, showcasing the routine that she follows before heading to school. Thereafter, she posted a funny video titled as ‘Shit Beauty Gurus Say.’ The video mocked other popular fashion and beauty vloggers. In the video, Shelby pointed out a few things that do not make any sense.

Shelby makes conscious effort to post videos that are relatable. Even in her makeup tutorials or hair styling videos, she focuses on using minimal products and tries to style her hair without using any heating tools. Her skin and hair care regimes are often useful for female athletes and swimmers, who need to take care of their skin after their respective practice session.
