Sebastian Villalobos

Sebastian Villalobos was born on January 17, 1996 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He has two younger brothers. At the age of 10, he moved to Bogota, a move which proved to be the turning point of his career. Villalobos got fame in 2011 when he launched his original channel. His first video titled ‘Soy nerd y las mujeres son raras’ was a big hit and thereafter he has not looked back.

Talk of digital media and Sebastian Villalobos is one of the first names that strikes the mind. In May 2011, at the age of 15, he launched his original channel ‘SebastianVillalobos’. His first video for the channel, ‘Soy nerd y las mujeres son raras’, was a major hit thus starting his journey as a YouTuber. Over the years, Sebastian Villalobos has become the Hispanic trendsetter with the highest digital engagement.

His millions of followers and subscribers helped hi earn a spot in the 2016 YouTube Rewind video which features the ‘Top YouTubers in the World’. Interestingly, Villalobos has widened his horizons and has ventured into other fields as well including video blogging, skit, writing, acting and so on. Currently, he serves as a Digital Reporter in Univision’s newest show, ‘Pequeños Gigantes’, where he works alongside Giselle Blondet. However, it was his participation in the primetime show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in 2016 that made him a household name. His popularity skyrocketed after the show. Consequently, he followed it up with a guest role in the hit Disney Channel (Latin America) show, ‘Soy Luna’. Such was his brilliance on screen that he became a globally trending name almost immediately and even earned himself a permanent spot for 20 episodes in Season 2.

Sebastian has also hosted shows like ‘Gana con Ganas’ on the Colombian network RCN, ‘Tiene Talento’, ‘Radio Coca Cola FM’ and has served as digital reporter for ‘La Voz Kids (The Voice Kids)’, the most popular show in Colombia. He bagged a special guest role on two of Univision’s highest rated shows, ‘Despierta America’ and ‘Nuestra Belleza Latina’.

Apart from his involvement in digital media, Sebastian Villalobos has adorned the hat of a writer as well. His book, ‘YouTuber School’ is very informative and instructive. It guides readers on how to become a successful YouTuber. For his remarkable talent and dominance over digital media, Villalobos won the MTV Millennial Icon of the Year Award and earned himself a nomination as the Hispanic Star of the Year for the Kid’s Choice Awards (U.S.). He was also nominated for TV Novelas’ ‘Newcomer of the Year’ category.
