Sean Tuohy was born on November 23, 1959 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the son of Edward "Skeets" Tuohy, a famous basketball coach at the Isidore Newman School, and his wife Mida (Michell). Sean met his wife Leigh Anne at the University of Mississippi. The couple got married in the mid-1980s and became parents of Collins Tuohy and Sean Tuohy Jr. The couple also adopted Michael Oher who went on to become a well-known NFL player later on. As of now, Tuohy and his wife Leigh Anne reside in Memphis, Tennessee.
Sean Tuohy attended Isidore Newman School and was then drafted by Cincinnati Reds to play baseball. Later on, he joined the University of Mississippi on the basis of a basketball scholarship. There, he was a member of Mississippi Alpha chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. In 1981, he led Ole Miss Rebels for their first SEC (Southeastern Conference) Men's Basketball Tournament championship and hence was named All-SEC in his four seasons. He also made many other records while playing for the team and was even chosen for the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame
Sean Tuohy started working as a broadcaster for NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies team in 2001. He then joined the radio as an analyst for broadcasts at Ole Miss. He later joined the team of Westwood One and CBS Radio for their national broadcasts. Tuohy and his wife are the owners of over eighty-five fast food franchises. These include ‘Pizza Hut’, ‘Taco Bell’, ‘Long John Silver's’ and ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken’ franchises. The husband-wife duo also wrote the book named ‘In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving’ which was released in 2010.
