Sean Cavaliere born at
Sean Cavaliere was born on November 14, 1999, in Boca Raton, a city on Florida’s south-eastern coast, known for its golf courses, parks and beaches. His mother, Maria, is an Italian native and grew up in Switzerland. She relocated to the US with a family as their Au Pair and later met Sean’s father who worked as a stuntman in American films. Cavaliere has a sister.
According to his parents, he first showed an interest in music when he was four years old. He couldn’t yet talk properly, but he was already trying to sing Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since You Been Gone’. Understandably, like many children of his generation, Cavaliere too was highly influenced by Justin Bieber and emulated him in every aspect, from singing to dancing to fashion.
Young Sean Cavaliere’s emulation of Bieber’s style eventually bore fruit, even if it was probably unintentional. He was spotted in a mall and was later recruited for a modelling agency. It led to a thriving career as a model for Cavaliere. Some of the brands he has worked for are Nerf and Sylvan Learning.
While shooting for an advertising campaign, he became acquainted with Annette Figueroa, who played his mother in the commercial. She came to adore Cavaliere, taken by his charm and singing ability, and arranged a meeting for him with her husband, platinum selling super-producer and mix engineer, Lu Diaz. While Cavaliere enjoyed his time as a model and actor, his main love remained music. He became truly ecstatic at the prospect of working with Diaz, who, during his two-decade-long career, has collaborated with the likes of Pitbull, P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez and Drake.
After their brief meeting, it did not take Diaz long to recognize Cavaliere’s inherent talent as a musician. In September 2014, Cavaliere’s first song ‘Best Time of Our Lives’ was released by Diaz’s own label Lu Diaz Music.
During this period, he was living in California. In 2015, he was selected to be part of New District, an R&B-influenced dance music and romantic acoustic pop group. Developed and managed by Isana, New District was formed after a worldwide internet-based talent search. Besides Cavaliere, the other original members of the group were Dallas, Texas native Dylan Rey; Thailand-born/Germany-raised Felix Biernat; Brooklyn, New York's Devin Dressman; and Germany's Jaden Bojsen. Their debut single ‘Closer’ was a hit among fans. They subsequently released a second song, ‘Ain’t Got No Money’, in August.
The group reportedly had multiple problems since the beginning and eventually split in December 2017. Since then, while all of his former bandmates have gone on to put out their solo singles, Cavaliere is yet to release his. In January 2018, he was seen on television auditioning for Fox’s ‘The Four: Battle for Stardom’, a music reality competition show hosted by Fergie. Performing before a panel of four judges (Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Charlie Walk), Cavaliere sang Shawn Mendes’ ‘Stitches’. While he did receive an exuberant reaction from the audience, the judges felt that the performance lacked originality. He was subsequently eliminated from the show.
