Scott has been dating actress Winona Ryder since 2011. The couple is going strong but they don’t seem to be in a hurry to get married.
He cares deeply about the environment and loves to explore forests in his leisure time. He also enjoys body-surfing.
Scott Mackinlay Hahn started his career as a fashion designer in Hollywood. Many celebrities liked his designs and sense of style. In 2001, he teamed up with fashion designer Rogan Gregory to start the popular apparel brand Rogan. Since the launch of the brand, Scott has been designing clothes for it. Rogan basically focused on denims and it pioneered the “old and washed out” look which became extremely fashionable all over the world. However, the process required a lot of water, which was not at all sustainable in the long run. The two designers, therefore, decided to start a brand which would be environment-friendly.
In 2004, Scott and Rogan co-founded Loomstate, an environment-friendly clothing brand which makes clothes with organic cotton. It sources 100 percent certified organic cotton from various parts of the globe including India, Africa, Turkey, Peru and the USA.Since its launch, Loomstate has bagged many prestigious projects including designing the uniforms for the fast food chain Chipotle Mexican Grill. The uniforms are made of tencel, which is a yarn made from tree and wood pulp.
Scott also owns the clothing line Egan, which he created with the famous rock star Bono of the U2 band and his wife Ali Hewson.
Besides designing, he heads the Sustainability Steering Committee for the Council of Fashion Designer of America (CFDA) and is a board member of the Council for Textile Recycling.
