He met English-Australian actress, Isla Fisher, in 2002 and got engaged to her in 2004. The couple welcomed their first baby, daughter Olive in 2007, after which Fisher converted to Judaism.
The couple married in a traditional Jewish ceremony in 2010 in Paris, France. They later had two more kids – daughter Elula Lottie Miriam (2010), and son Montgomery Moses Brian (2015).
Sacha Noam Baron Cohen was born on October 13, 1971, in Hammersmith, West London, as the youngest of three sons, to a Welsh clothing store owner, Gerald Baron Cohen, and Israeli movement instructor, Daniella Naomi Weiser.
He attended an independent school, The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys School, in Elstree, Hertfordshire, and later went to Christ’s College, University of Cambridge, to study history.
With immense interest in performing arts from a young age, he joined the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club and participated in various plays, such as ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’.
He took up modeling for various fashion magazines for a short time after graduating. Thereafter which he hosted a weekly programme on a satellite TV station during the early 1990s.
He auditioned for the profile of a presenter on Channel 4 by sending his tape as an Albanian television reporter in 1995. He was selected and worked on various ‘youth TV’ projects.
He started hosting ‘F2F’, a youth chat programme aired on Granada Talk TV, in 1996, besides appearing in a McCain Microchips advertisement.
In 1998, he appeared on the late night comedy show ‘The 11 O’Clock Show, broadcast on Channel 4, as the white uneducated, boorish aspiring rapper ‘Ali G’, which brought him into limelight.
As a hip-hop journalist, donning a colorful tracksuit, tinted sunglasses and designer skullcap, he interviewed politicians and celebrities with his weird questions.
His stint as Ali G on his 2000 show ‘Da Ali G Show’ got him recognition across Britain, and won him several accolades in the form of awards. Eventually, he featured in Madonna’s 2000 video for her single ‘Music’ as a limousine driver.
He starred in the 2006 blockbuster mocumentary film ‘Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan’, playing the lead role of Borat, which won him several awards and nominations.
