Ryan Potter was born on September 12, 1995 in Portland, Oregon, the USA to Jordanna Potter. His father is Japanese while his mother is an American Jew. His first language is Japanese and his second is English. At the age of eight, he started studying White Tiger kung fu or Emperor's Art, a discipline that he pursued throughout his teenage years.
Besides acting, his childhood interests also included skateboarding, baseball, and playing the drums. The actor played baseball for more than nine years. He is a socially conscious citizen and is involved with numerous charitable organizations. Potter is grateful for having been linked with Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than 14 years. He is one of the association’s Celebrity Ambassadors.
Ryan Potter first appeared on television in 2011 when he was cast to play the lead character Mike Fukanaga on Nickelodeon's series ‘Supah Ninjas’. In 2012, he appeared in the TV shows ‘Figure It Out’ and ‘Fred: The Show’. The following year, he did the short film ‘Save the Date’. He then played Peter Hammer in the flick ‘Senior Project’ in 2014. The same year, Potter voiced the character of Hiro Hamada in the movie ‘Big Hero 6’ as well as the video game ‘Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes’.
He was cast as Eric Barret in the Indie film ‘Underdog Kids’. In 2015, he began appearing in the web series ‘R Styles’. The American actor then lent his voice to one of the characters of the animated movie ‘Throne of Elves’ in 2016. That year, he also appeared as Riker in ‘Lab Rats: Elite Force’. Since 2017, Potter has been voicing Hiro Hamada in Disney XD’s ‘Big Hero 6: The Series’. Currently, he is filming his upcoming web TV series ‘Titans’ in which he will be playing the role of Garfield "Gar" Logan aka Beast Boy.
