Romee Strijd

Romee was born July 19, 1995, in Zoetermeer, a city in the Netherlands. She has a sister. When Romee moved to New York for her modeling assignments, she had a hard time conversing, as she did not know English back then. Her fellow models helped her a lot in learning the language.

Romee is a fitness-conscious woman. She is also very sporty and loves boxing and running. Her workout and fitness routine includes Pilates, yoga, and barre. Romee does not compromise on her workout sessions even when she is traveling. She always visits the gyms in the hotels she stays in. Her workout sessions often consist of 30 minutes of running, 15 minutes of jumping rope, and 15 minutes of ab workouts. To keep herself fit and active, Romee monitors her calorie intake regularly. Banana bread is her favorite health snack.

Romee loves to listen to music while working out. Her all-time favorite artists are Beyoncé and Rihanna. She always keeps a day crème/moisturizer and lip balm in her bag. Her favorite place in the world is Amsterdam. Romee also enjoys cooking and interior designing.

Romee began her modeling career at the age of 14. She was first spotted by a modeling agent when she was shopping with her mother in Amsterdam. She initially showed no interest in the offer but accepted it later. In 2011, Romee bagged a contract with ‘DNA Model Management,’ a premier modeling agency. Romee’s initial modeling assignments helped her strengthen her footing in the industry and promote herself better. Her first season as a model consisted of assignments with designers and brands such as Jil Sander, ‘Prada,’ ‘Burberry,’ and ‘Louis Vuitton.’

In 2014, Romee bagged her next major modeling campaign when she was chosen as a runway model for the world-renowned luxury lingerie and sleepwear line 'Victoria's Secret.' The show gave her modeling career a boost. The following year, Romee was named a ‘Victoria’s Secret Angel.’ This opened several avenues for Romee in the field of modeling. She later walked the ramp for many world-renowned designers and fashion labels such as Alexander McQueen, ‘Badgley Mischka,’ ‘Balmain,’ ‘Calvin Klein,’ ‘Céline,’ Christopher Kane, Donna Karan, ‘EDUN,’ Giambattista Valli, Hussein Chalayan, ‘Isabel Marant,’ Jill Stuart, ‘Kenzo,’ ‘Loewe,’ ‘Marchesa,’ Michael Kors, ‘Nina Ricci,’ Peter Som, Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung, ‘Rag & Bone,’ ‘Rochas,’ Roland Mouret, Carolina Herrera, ‘Stradivarius,’ Giuseppe Zanotti, ‘H&M,’ and Vera Wang. Romee was one of the models to be featured in the first-ever edition of 'Dutch Vogue.'

Following this, she was featured in many other fashion journal editorials, such as 'Vogue' (British, German, and Spanish), 'Elle' (French and Dutch), ‘Harper's Bazaar' (Spanish), 'Marie Claire' (Dutch), and ‘Madame Figaro.' In February 2016, Romee was announced as the face of 'Victoria Secret’s newly launched perfume, 'XO Victoria.'

In 2017, Romee signed a contract with 'IMG Models Management' as their in-house model. She broadcast the news through her 'Instagram' post. Romee’s 'Instagram' page has over four million followers. She also owns a 'YouTube' channel where she posts vlogs about her life. The channel has earned her more than 573 thousand subscribers on the platform.
