Birth Place

Rebecca Parham was born on December 4, 1987, in Texas. She was brought up in a close knit family but faced a lot of problems at school. A fervent artist from a young age, Parham would always spend her time sketching and acting out plays with her sister, Rachel. She studied at a private preparatory school but decided to join local public school mid-way after facing a lot of bullying. Before joining the ‘Ringling College of Art and Design’ to do her majors in animation Parham studied theatre for a year at the ‘The University of the Incarnate Word’. Understanding that theatre was not a sufficient and viable career choice, she quit. She graduated in 2013 with a major in computer animation and a minor in business of Art and Design. Parham’s career started with many hurdles with the death of her father and anxiety issues but she persisted and ultimately made it big.

Personal Life

Rebecca Parham adored animation and was a huge fan of Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network from her childhood days. In 2006, the passionate artist started posting her drawings on the website DeviantArt and through this she stumbled upon YouTube. Though YouTube was not quite the phenomenon back then, Parham’s curiosity led her to starting her first channel ‘Grizabella626’ on YouTube. She began by posting parodies and fan art on Ed, Edd and Eddy but her videos did not receive much traction. A theatre enthusiast, Parham initially decided to do majors in theatre, but soon realized it was not going to pay the bills. The YouTuber then changed her stream of study to pursue a career in animation. Parham’s attention towards YouTube slowly fizzled out as she started to give her total attention to animation school.

Fast forward to 2012—a time when YouTube was the next big thing—prior to starting her senior year in college, Parham realized that thousands of people were using YouTube which was oozing with flourishing, original content. A re-sparked interest in YouTube led to Parham going back to sketching fan art videos and parodies. She collaborated with YouTuber, Dane Boe, who asked her to animate a music video for his song ‘Stuck in an Emo Band’ which was published on his channel on December 6, 2013.

After the collaboration proved to be successful, Parham decided to start her YouTube channel while freelancing to manage her bread and butter. On February 17, 2014 Rebecca’s new channel ‘Let Me Explain Studios’ came into being after deliberation with her family and friends that her previous channel was too old and not marketable.

However, her parodies and sketches on the channel did not prove to be sustainable. So, she decided to go back to her ‘Grizabella’ days and mix animation with vlogging.

Comparing herself to her other animation school friends working at big studios, the artist started suffering with a lot of stress and anxiety. However, she did not give up and continued freelancing and making videos for her now primary channel, ‘Let Me Explain Studios’; being the main protagonist and voicing her animations. Gradually she gained 20000 followers and in 2017 a life altering collaboration with her YouTuber friends TomSka, Dane Boe and Jaiden Animations led to the big break she was waiting for. The two year old script titled ‘How to Creep Out Your Favorite YouTubers at Conventions’ was posted on May 25, 2017 and in no time her following started to rise. Her talent did not go unnoticed as she was featured with many other members of the YouTube animation community at the end of 2017’s YouTube Rewind. Ever since Rebecca Parham’s popularity has only risen and as of November 2018 she has over 1.6 million subscribers on her main channel, ‘Let Me Explain Studios’.
