Ray Toro was born as Raymond Toro on July 15, 1977 in Kearny, New Jersey, USA. He has two brothers. Toro attended Kearny High School and then enrolled in an editing course at the William Paterson University, New Jersey. He became interested in music when he was in high school. His passion for music led him to enrol for guitar lessons and he also became involved with several local bands.

Ray Toro joined the band ‘The Rodneys’ and helped release their first and the only album titled ‘Soccertown USA’ in the year 1998. After this, he became the member of another band ‘My Chemical Romance’ alongside Gerard Way, Matt Pelissier and Mikey Way. The band released their first album ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’ in 2002. This was followed by ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’, ‘The Black Parade’ and ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’ in 2004, 2006 and 2010 respectively. After this, the band got dissolved. Besides four studio albums, My Chemical Romance had also worked on 25 singles, two live albums, four video albums, six extended plays, 18 music videos and one demo. It had also contributed to albums by other artists and bands.

Career

After this, Ray Toro posted his solo song titled ‘Isn't That Something’ to SoundCloud in 2013. Later that year, he joined the band ‘Reggie and the Full Effect’ for their album ‘No Country for Old Musicians’. Two years later, the American musician released his song ‘For the Lost and Brave’. This was followed by ‘Tired of Sex’ and ‘Hope for the World’. In 2016, Toro’s debut album ‘Remember the Laughter’ came out.
