Rachael Ellering was born on December 28, 1992, in Minnesota, United States, with professional wrestling in her DNA. She is the daughter of Paul Ellering, the manager of the Road Warriors, a highly popular tag team, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. She has two siblings, Rebecca and Saul.
From the age of 16, Rachael wanted to be a wrestler, but she knew how difficult it was to make a mark in this industry. Hence, she gave more importance to her studies and wanted to complete her education before pursuing a career in wrestling. She graduated from Melrose High School and earned a degree in communications from St. Catherine University.
She is dating NXT star Kassius Ohno, who is also known as Chris Hero on the independent circuit.
In December 2015, Ellering graduated from Storm Wrestling Academy, run by World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment star Lance Storm. She had made her debut in Prairie Wrestling Alliance, in Alberta, Canada, on November 21, 2015 in a match with Lance Storm against Brett Morgan and Gisele Shaw. Next, she made her Shine debut at Shine 34 match, which was won by Tessa Blanchard. At Shine 35, she defeated Blanchard in a rematch.
Rachael made her WWE debut on NXT on April 28, 2016, but Alexa Bliss won the match. She appeared on NXT’s September 14, 2016 episode under the name Rachel Fazio, but lost the match to Liv Morgan. She returned to NXT on November 11, losing to Ember Moon. On May 3, 2017, she returned once again to NXT, and participated in a number 1 contender's battle royal. However, this time too, she lost the battle to Aliyah. Her battle on NXT on June 21, 2017, against Sonya Deville, led to a loss.
She entered the Mae Young Classic tournament under a new ring name, Rachel Evers, on July 13, 2017. While she defeated Marti Belle in her first match, the next day, Abbey Laith eliminated her from the tournament in the second match.
She entered Impact Wrestling and made an appearance on the March 2, 2017 television tapings, competing against Sienna, eventually losing the match. On March 3, she competed in Impact’s One Night Only pay-per-view series, at Knockouts Knockdown 2017 against Laurel Van Ness. She lost this match too.
