Born to Pastor Henry Parks and Regina Bell in Oct 1973 in Athens, Georgia, United States of America, Phaedra is the second of 4 children. She has three siblings - Henri Jacques Parks, Albert Bell and Keosha Bell.
A native of Athens, Georgia, Phaedra earned her BA Hons degree from Wesleyan College, Athens, GA. She then went on to study law and earn a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia and a degree in mortuary sciences from Jefferson State College.
After graduating from Law School in 1996, Phaedra started The Parks Group PC, an Atlanta based law firm of which she is currently a managing partner. Parks has also served as the president of the Gate City Bar Association and been on the advisory board of the American Bar Association.
She married Apollo Nida in 2009, and has two sons from him. Her elder son, Ayden Adonis Nida, was born in 2010, and the younger son, Dylan, was born in 2013. Phaedra & Apollo separated in 2016. She currently lives with her sons, Ayden and Dylan, in Atlanta and is said to be dating Tim Norman.
Besides being a successful lawyer and TV celebrity, Phaedra is known to have authored the bestselling book ‘Secrets of the Southern Belle: How to be Nice, Work Hard, Look Pretty, Have Fun and Never Have an Off Moment’. Through this entertaining book, Phaedra inspires the southern belles to be confident and graceful. Phaedra travels across the country extensively to give motivational speeches on a varied range of subjects that range from business to law to personal growth and achieving success.
Parks is also known for her involvement in community services. She has passionately advocated and worked for African-American community. She has also been associated with a not for profit organization named ‘Save our Sons’. The non-profit organization is known to organize nationwide awareness campaigns that highlight the importance of positive male role models in the lives of black boys.
Phaedra has spent time with the families of victims of violence and unjustified killings to express her solidarity and concern for the black community. As a lawyer she is also known in the Washington DC lawyers’ circuit and is known to be actively involved in initiatives to provide opportunities for at-risk youth.
If all of this wasn’t enough for Phaedra, this southern celebrity is a licensed funeral director and is in the process of opening a funeral home in the greater Atlanta area.
