Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac has renovated an apartment for himself in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and currently resides over there. He is an accomplished guitar player and singer and has been playing guitar since he was twelve.

He is rumored to be engaged to the writer, Maria Miranda. Also, he has been linked with the actress Elvira Lind.

Oscar Isaac was born on March 9, 1979 in Guatemala. His mother, Maria Eugenia Estrada Nicolle, is Guatemalan and his father, Oscar Gonzalo Hernandez-Cano is Cuban pulmonologist.

He grew up in Miami, Florida and studied at private grade school, Westminster Christian. He caused a lot of trouble at school while growing up.

He began his acting journey with Area Stage Company, Miami Beach and also acted in Miami-based City Theatre's Summer Shorts short play festival in 2000–2001. He also played guitar and sang vocals for the band ‘The Blinking Underdogs’, in Miami. *He graduated from Juilliard School in New York City and was a part of Drama Division's Group 34 over there.

Oscar Isaac made his film debut with ‘Illtown’ in 1998 and appeared in ‘All About the Benjamins’ in 2002. He starred as Detective Fartman in ‘Lenny the Wonder Dog’ in 2004.

He acted in the Shakespeare in the Park’s play ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ in 2005. Isaac appeared in an episode of ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ in 2006 and also acted in the film ‘Pu-239’ the same year.

Oscar Isaac had his first major role in the biblical epic ‘The Nativity Story’ in 2006 and received a lot of critical acclaim for his performance. He then acted in Manhattan Theatre Club’s ‘Beauty of the Father’ in 2006 and Shakespeare in the Park’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in 2007.

He starred in ‘The Life Before Her Eyes’ (2007), ‘Che: Part One’ (2008), ‘Body of Lies’ (2008) and Manhattan Theatre Club’s ‘Grace’ in 2008. He appeared in the film ‘Agora’ in 2009.

Isaac received a lot of recognition and appreciation for his role as José Ramos-Horta in ‘Balibo’ in 2009. He played Prince John in the historical film ‘Robin Hood’ in 2010.

Oscar Isaac is best known for his role in the film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ (2013). His performance earned him several awards and his first nomination in the Golden Globe Awards.

His performance in the films ‘A Most Violent Year’ (2014) and ‘Ex Machina’ (2015) were also widely appreciated. He received several awards and nominations for these two films.
