Noah Wyle’s first wife was Tracy Warbin, a make-up artist whom he married in 2000. They have two children, Owen and Auden Wyle. The couple divorced in 2010.
He then married Sara Wells in 2014. They had a daughter named Frances Harper Wyle in 2015.
He is involved with various organizations such as ‘Doctors of the World’, ‘World Wildlife Fund and ‘ADAPT’.
Noah Wyle was born in Hollywood, California, on 4th June 1971 to Stephen Wyle, an electrical engineer and entrepreneur, and Marjorie, a registered orthopedic head nurse. His father was Jewish while his mother was Episcopalian.
His parents divorced when he was still very young. He studied at the Thacher School in Ojai, California. Later, he took part in a Theatre Arts program in the Northwestern University. After his graduation, he trained under acting teacher Larry Moss. During this time, he lived in a small apartment on Hollywood Boulevard.
Noah Wyle’s first credited role was in the drama film ‘Crooked Hearts’ in 1991. It was directed by Michael Bortman. He next appeared in the Oscar-nominated legal drama film ‘A Few Good Men’. Directed by Rob Reiner, the film was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Picture. The film also did well commercially.
He continued his acting career, appearing in movies such as ‘There Goes my Baby’ and ‘The Myths of Fingerprints’.
Wyle’s acting career on TV took off with the role of a medical student named John Carter in the medical drama TV series ‘ER’. The show aired from 1994 to 2009 and won as many as twenty Emmy awards. It became the longest running primetime medical drama in the history of American TV. Wyle appeared in the show till 2005, and his performance earned him five Emmy award nominations.
In 1999, he played the lead role of Steve Jobs in the TV film ‘Pirates of Silicon Valley’, a biographical drama directed by Martyn Burke. The film revolves around the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates and how it impacts the development of the personal computer. The film was met positively by the critics.
His next important role was in the 2001 sci-fi film ‘Donnie Darko’.Though it wasn’t a huge hit commercially, the film received critical acclaim.
