Aniya Davis was born on August 15, 2004, in the state of Virginia, the USA. Little information is available on her family and early life. She has two brothers and two sisters, who have made appearances on her social media posts several times. Davis started dancing when she was four years old.

Niyahgotnaps set up her first Instagram account in April 2014 and garnered a considerably large group of followers on the channel. However, it was hacked at some point, which prompted her to change her username. Her current Instagram account is under the username Niyahgotcurls. She uploaded the first video on the channel in July 2017. It also featured one of her sisters. In her second upload on the channel, posted a day later, she performed a short dance routine to 21 Savage’s ‘Bank Account’. In the beginning, she was getting thousands of views per video as she already had a strong fan base. That number only increased over time. These days, she garners tens of thousands of views per video and has accumulated over 570 thousand followers on the account. She also has a backup account under the username Curlyhairniyah2 with over four thousand followers.

She set up her YouTube channel under the username Niyahgotcurls in August 2017 and uploaded the first video there on the same day. This was not her first YouTube channel but in time, it became the most successful one. Her content on YouTube is not limited to dance videos; while they make up the bulk of it, she also posts Q&As, challenges, and reaction videos. As of September 2018, she has garnered over 222 thousand subscribers and more than eight million views on the channel.

The most popular video on her channel is ‘Eating a big pickle (very hilarious) !!!!’. Uploaded in September 2017, it has accumulated 1.7 million views to date. Some of her other popular videos are ‘Eating a pickle pt2 (very funny) !!’ (824 thousand views), ‘Transforming into girly girl !!!’ (810 thousand views), and ‘First time in jail #comedy @niyahgotcurls ( @hahadavis )’ (571 thousand views).

She has another YouTube channel under the username Curlyhairniyah with more than 60 thousand subscribers and 1.6 million views. She created it in June 2017. Her main Tik Tok / musical.ly account is Curlyhairniyah. She also has a backup page, Niyahgotcurls, on which she has about seven thousand followers. Her Instagram, musical.ly, and Snapchat accounts have been hacked multiple times, forcing her to either adopt a new username or create another account.
