Navia was born on May 4, 2005, in Marietta, Georgia. Her mother is Lisa Butler Robinson. Navia often posts pictures with her mother on her social media handles. She has two older brothers. It appears that her family takes an active interest in her career. In February 2016, she posted a photograph with one of her brothers on her Instagram account.
Navia is an honours student at Shallowford Falls Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia. Since she was a child, Navia had harboured acting aspirations. In the summer of 2011, she took part in her first national talent competition at the Actors, Models and Talent for Christ "Shine Event" in Orlando, Florida. There, she emerged as one of the top ten finalists in the categories of acting, singing solo, singing troupe and fashion runway modelling and earned the title of the Overall Top Child Model. Subsequently, she signed with Generation Model Management of New York. Navia is currently signed with J. Pervis Talent Agency of Atlanta and CESD in Los Angeles and New York.
Navia began her career in the world of glamour as a child model. She appeared in national commercials for Moe's Southwest Grill, Dr. Charles Stanley's In Touch Ministries, and Smithfield Foods, Inc. She also worked in a promotional web campaign for the Boosterthon Fun Run Organization and walked the runway for rising fashion icon Jason Christopher Peters. Most recently, Navia has been part of regional and national commercials for AT&T, Golden Corral Restaurants, and Synovus Bank. In 2015, the Disney executives requested her to attend and take part in the company’s two-week boot camp in Los Angeles, California.
Navia, with her impressive modelling credentials, had been on the radar of people in the entertainment industry for a while. In 2014, she successfully auditioned for the role of D'Asia in BET’s drama television series ‘Being Mary Jane’. Between 2014 and 2015, she appeared in ten episodes of the show which also starred Gabrielle Union, Lisa Vidal, and Margaret Avery.
Her next role came about in 2017 when she guest-starred in the CW’s supernatural drama series ‘The Vampire Diaries’. That year, she also joined the cast of ‘Free Rein’, a British children's television series created and written by Vicki Lutas and Anna McCleery. It was broadcast on Netflix.
Navia plays Nia Baxter-Carter, one of the twin children of Raven Baxter (Raven-Symoné), the protagonist in ‘Raven’s Home,’ an American family situational comedy produced by Disney Channel. The show is a spinoff of and sequel to ‘That’s So Raven’, a show that aired from 2003 to 2007, also on Disney Channel. The first season, consisting of 13 episodes, aired from July 21, 2017, to October 20, 2017. The series has been renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere on June 25, 2018.
