Navarone Garibaldi born at
Navarone Anthony Garibaldi was born on March 1, 1987 in Santa Monica, California, USA, as the son of actress and business tycoon Priscilla Presley and Marco Garibaldi, an Italian-American producer and director. Marco formed Godfather Entertainment, a production company, in 2008 with the mission of producing movies in the $20 million range.
Navarone’s parents, who were never married, had started living together in 1984. They separated in 2006 when Navarone was 19. He has connection with the family of Elvis Presley as his mother is the former wife of the legendary singer. He has a half-sister named Lisa Marie Presley, who is Elvis's only child. Navarone’s family has, therefore, always been in the media’s focus. He attended high school in Los Angeles.
Like many other celebrity kids, he has also had his share of controversies. When he was 17, he was arrested for over-speeding under the influence of marijuana. He was also carrying hallucinogenic mushrooms, the possession of which in the United States is illegal because they contain the Schedule I drugs, psilocin and psilocybin. He was addicted to heroin as well, and had to struggle to get clean.
Inspired by several rock bands, and driven by his own passion, Navarone Anthony Garibaldi formed the rock band Them Guns in 2013 in Santa Cruz, California. He is the lead singer and the guitarist, while Kyle Hamood plays the keyboard and the vocoder. Chris Hudson, his high school friend, joined the band as the drummer and Chuck Holiday joined as the bassist and vocalist. Navarone and Kyle are the main songwriters for the band.
After a few performances, the band started getting encouragement from the media and critics. They toured across the nation and in the UK, and performed at several prestigious rock venues like The Viper Room, The Troubadour in West Hollywood, and many other places. They debuted in the UK at a grand show on April 4, 2013, at The Kings Head Club in Hoxton.
In April 2015, the independent film ‘Shut Up and Drive’ featured three of the band’s songs in the soundtrack. These were ‘Close Your Eyes’, ‘Devil’s Eye’ and ‘Heard It All Before’. The film was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and the band performed after the screening of the film. Their performance was highly appreciated.
The band’s two singles, ‘Somebody Called the Cops’ and ‘Horoscope’ were released in 2016. Both of these received rave reviews. Filmmaker/video director Paul Boyd directed the video for the song ‘Somebody Called the Cops’. In an interview, Navarone stated that the song was “about the world changing to a place where we need to watch our every move. Every move, always under surveillance.”
He is also known for his work in the films ‘Breakfast with Einstein’, released in 1998, and ‘Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash’, released in 2017.
