Nau

Nau was born on December 9, 2002, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. He is about two and a half years older than Adexe, who was born on July 7, 2005. Since he was a child, he has been interested in music. His parents have made several appearances on both his and brother’s social media posts.

In 2013, when Nau was 11 years old, his seven-year-old brother climbed up on a table and started singing at a family celebration. Popular composer and singer Iván Troyano was one of the guests attending the event. Impressed by Adexe’s talent, he reached out to the family, proposing to collaborate with the boy. Subsequently, Troyano and Adexe, along with Santos Real, recorded a song titled ‘Soy el única’ (I’m the Only One) for the YouTube channel LT Global Music. They also appeared together in the music video for the song. This marked the beginning of what would be a long professional relationship between the two. They worked together on a song called ‘Your Illusion’, which was composed by Troyano himself and produced by Lupion.

Adexe’s YouTube channel was set up on December 22, 2013, and the first video was posted about a week later, on 28 December. Titled ‘Primera entrevista a Adexe junto a Ivan Troyano en Zona Urbana Radio’, the video has accumulated over two hundred thousand views. It shows the first interview Adexe has ever given. Appearing alongside his mentor Troyano, he can be seen speaking about ‘Soy el única’ and his musical aspirations.

A few months later, Nau had a conversation with his parents and convinced them of his own musical talent. They subsequently contacted Troyano and asked him if the next cover could be done by both the brothers. Troyano agreed and the cover of ‘Si tú no estás’ by Nicky Jam was posted on their channel on June 7, 2015. The video has garnered over 60 million views.

Since then, they have covered songs by the likes of Felipe Santos, Prince Royce and Justin Bieber. On February 10, 2017, they signed a record deal with Sony Music Latin. The contract signing was reported by both the Spanish and the American media.

On May 5, 2017, the duo released their debut album, ‘Tú y Yo’. It is comprised of 12 songs: the title track, ‘Podemos Ser Felices’, ‘Sólo Amigos’, ‘Es Para Mi Señorita’, ‘Navegando’, ‘Grita’, ‘Soñando Contigo’, ‘En Otro Mundo Diferente’, ‘Te Estoy Haciendo Enloquecer’, ‘Yo Quiero Vivir’, ‘Nunca Llorarás’, and ‘Es Amor’. That year, he and his brother also contributed to the soundtrack of the fantasy action film ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’.
