Nadine Samonte

She married businessman Richard Chua on October 30, 2013, and is blessed with a daughter, Heather Sloane, born on August 27, 2016.

She was born on born March 2, 1988, in Rosenheim, West Germany, to a German father, Frank Eidloth, and a Filipina mother, Edjenta Burgos, among three children. Her father served a food company in Philippines while her mother ran a beauty parlour in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

She has one sister, Nicole, and one brother, Edmund. Not much is known about her childhood except that she and her sister Nicole were sent back to Philippines by their father when Nadine was just four years old so that the girls can have a humble upbringing instead of adopting, according to their father, an arrogant German attitude.

At nine years of age, she started training in martial arts and at present holds a blue belt in Taekwondo. She has faced a knee problem since her childhood which restricts her from doing any strenuous activity including climbing the stairs.

She entered the world of fashion, glamour and entertainment as a commercial model. Even before landing into the world of mainstream acting, Nadine featured in print advertisements and television commercials. Some of her initial ads included that of Palmolive Soap, Libresse and Nestle Ice-Cream.

She made her debut in television with the Philippine reality talent competition ‘StarStruck’. The series that was created by ‘GMA Network’ and debuted on October 27, 2003, emerged among the most popular reality contests that featured on Philippine television.

Nadine was selected as one of the contenders of ‘StarStruck’ in its first season. She became one of the final six avengers of the season before getting eliminated. The show garnered her recognition and led her to get other offers on TV.

In 2004, she remained part of the Philippine musical variety show ‘SOP Gigsters’. That year, she essayed the role of Natalia / Mutya in ‘Kissing Beauty’, in the third season of the youth oriented romantic Philippine series ‘Love to Love’ that was aired on the ‘GMA Network’.

The romantic drama TV series ‘Ikaw Sa Puso Ko’ that aired on ‘GMA Network’ from March 1 to October 1, 2004 marked Nadine’s first starring role in a TV series where she played the lead female character of Sofia.
