Mumbo Jumbo was born on December 1, 1995, in Frimley, UK. His first name is Oliver, and to his friends, he is known as Oli. He is currently dating his girlfriend Vicky, whose photograph he shared on Valentine’s Day, 2017. However, he has shown no intentions of getting engaged or married as yet.
He gained admission into ‘Oxford University’ and is pursuing a degree in computer science and programming. He has always been a bright student with a creative mind.
He has a passion for cars and is a keen surfer. He has a pet cat, Benji. He is an active member of a gym and is conscious about his health. He started with photography as a hobby from a young age and used his skill to make videos and this turned into a profession.
Mumbo Jumbo started his career in Minecraft, on YouTube, by posting a series titled ‘ServerCraft Survival,’ in 2012. His initial success prompted him to start making tutorial videos on how to make various builds using a virtual material called Redstone.
His channel was named ‘Mumbo Jumbo,’ after him and his partner who started the project. However, he decided to continue with the name that had become popular among fans, even after his partner left the channel.
He has a second channel called ‘Mumbo Vlogs’ where he posts cat videos, live streams, product reviews, and other informative visuals that have become extremely popular with his ever-increasing subscribers, who have been asking for more.
Mumbo Jumbo, also known as ‘ThatMumboJumbo’, is an active member of the Hermitcraft server of YouTube since June 2012. He has a running vanilla survival ‘Let’s Play’ series on YouTube that has a massive subscription of enthusiastic fans. His other Hermitcraft series includes ‘My New Home,’ ‘Farms, Diamonds, Dirt Huts,’ ‘Beginnings of my Base,’ and ‘Total Failure.’
Mumbo has opened the ‘Redstone Consultancy,’ where he designs and builds Redstone contraptions for other Hermitcraft members, out of virtual material. His projects stretch the imagination with things like the design for a ‘Wither Skeleton Farm with Xisuma’ and ‘An Elevator in Monkeyfarm’s Giant Skull’. The virtual material enables subscribers to enter a virtual world, where the sky is the limit to what they can achieve.
His Redstone videos are huge projects that make normal builds look insignificant compared to - them. A few examples are ‘10 Ways to Make Traps in Minecraft,’ ‘10 Redstone Tips and Tricks in Minecraft,’ ‘10 Redstone Projects for Novices,’ and ‘Redstone Vending Machine.’
He has also made several tutorial videos that include the ‘-HI-LO Tech’ series, which include small, but useful builds for large projects such as BUD Switches, Pulse Extenders and Hopper Systems. Some of his projects are add-on projects that build various subsystems that can be amalgamated into a large project.
His other YouTube series are ‘Hermitcraft ModSauce,’ ‘Best of Minecraft,’ ‘Too Small,’ ‘Practical Skills,’ and ‘Piston Houses.’ These relate to the imagination of the current younger generation and their perspective of the future.
