Miranda Miller was born on November 22, 1995, in California. Her mother and step-father used to own a children’s theatre. When Miranda was three years old, she gave her first stage performance. Thereafter, she developed an interest in music and performing arts. Since there was no theatre workshop in her city which could train Miranda the basics of performing arts, her mother started one. Miranda began her training and eventually grew up as a performing artist.
Miranda has studied event management. After leaving the band, Miranda has diverted all her attention to academics. She earlier worked as a piano teacher.
She was the eldest member of the band. Being the eldest, the sense of responsibility came naturally to her. She treated other girls in the band as her younger sisters. Miranda is a perfectionist. Be it any concert or her study assignment, she will recheck each and everything before presenting it in front of everyone.
Miranda realized her passion for music at a very young age. She started taking guitar and piano lessons quite early and also gained some experience in stage performances.
Miranda’s career breakthrough came when she met Julia Pierce, the creator of the band ‘Cherri Bomb’ (now, Hey Violet). Julia was in search of a young teenage girl who could join her to create a punk rock band. She was highly impressed by Miranda’s talent and she immediately counted her in. In 2008, Miranda became part of the all-girl pop-rock band ‘Cherri Bomb.’ She joined the band as the rhythm guitarist, keyboard player, and backing vocalist. The name of the band was inspired by one of the novels of Carrie Borzillo.
Miranda got the chance to collaborate with numerous famous rock bands, such as Bush, Camp Freddy, Filter, Foo Fighters, The Smashing Pumpkins, Staind, and Steel Panther. She was a part of numerous concerts and tours during her association with the band.
Miranda came into the limelight after Julia left the band in February 2015. Miranda cited creative differences as the reason for her departure. With Julia’s departure, all the responsibilities of the band came on Miranda’s shoulders, since she was the eldest among all.
After Julia left, the band was renamed ‘Hey Violet,’ which was officially announced on their YouTube channel. ‘This Is Why’ was the first single after the band’s name changed. The band signed a contract with an Australian record company ‘Hi or Hey Records.’ A few months after the contract, they released their first EP ‘I Can Feel It.’ Miranda released three extended plays and two studio albums with the band.
Miranda left the band on August 31, 2017. She announced her decision to quit through the band’s official social media page, which came as a shock to many. She cited the demanding touring schedule as the reason for her departure. It became difficult for her to continue her academics simultaneously with her music career. Miranda used to complete her study assignments only during the breaks. That eventually became extremely hectic for Miranda and her academics took a backseat. Her decision, however, was supported by her band members and even by her fans. They all wished her best for her future projects.
In 2014, she was seen as Talia Al'Ghul on the television mini-series ‘The New York Psycho.’ The same years she worked as production coordinator for the family drama ‘Post Season.’ She also composed the song ‘All We Ever Wanted’ for the 2017 released horror flick ‘Wish Upon.’
