Millie Innes was born on October 5, 2000, in Glasgow, Scotland, to British parents, Julia and Campbell Innes. She has a younger brother named Murray. She was actively interested in performing arts since the age of 2. She was so deeply in love with dancing that she urged her father to build a separate space in her house to help her practice her skills. Her father built her a small wooden stage in her bedroom.
Millie has been acting since a very young age. She was enrolled at the ‘Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts.’ She started acting professionally while still in elementary school. She ended up winning major roles on ‘CBeebies’ shows such as ‘Nina and the Neurons’ and ‘Me Too!’
Millie was a huge fan of the ‘Tracy Beaker’ show’ and would often watch it repeatedly. Her mother recalls Millie telling her that she wished to appear on a show like that someday. This burning passion led her to several auditions, and it was not long before that confidence translated into a major TV role for Millie.
In 2010, at the age of 9, Millie landed her debut role in the four-part TV drama ‘Single Father.’ It was produced by ‘BBC’ and narrated the story of a single father who had to take care of her young daughter after his wife passed away in a road accident. Millie played the role of the daughter in the series. It received mixed reviews. However, the performances were highly appreciated.
The next year, Millie bagged another major role in the children’s comedy-drama series ‘Dani’s House.’ Millie portrayed ‘Maisy,’ a major supporting role in the series. The series was critically acclaimed and received several ‘BAFTA’ nominations.
In 2011, Millie appeared in the British crime-drama series ‘Case Histories,’ which was based on a popular novel series of the same name. Millie played ‘Marlee Brodie,’ one of the key roles in the series. The series was a critical and commercial success. Millie’s association with several successful series in such an early phase of her career established her as one of the best young contemporary actors.
In 2013, she played the guest role of ‘Fiona’ in an episode of ‘Dani’s Castle.’ In 2014, she earned the biggest acting role of her career. She was to play the lead role in the British sitcom ‘Millie Inbetween.’ Millie portrayed ‘Millie McDonald,’ a girl with divorced parents. In the series, she and her sister, ‘Lauren,’ constantly swap places to live with each of their parents. However, trouble starts brewing when their parents start their respective new relationships.
In 2015, Millie appeared as herself in the documentary film ‘Newsround: Being Me,’ and in the same year, she appeared on the show ‘Hacker Time’ as herself. In the next couple of years, she appeared on two game shows: ‘Ultimate Brain’ and ‘Top Class.’
