Michael Finch was born on September 8, 1996 in Myrtleford, Victoria, Australia. Information regarding his parents and siblings is missing from the web. However, he has featured his mother in some of his YouTube videos. He is good friends with many fellow YouTubers including Kashani Grimmond who has been featured in two of Finch’s most viewed videos "Client Makeup” and "Clubbing GRWM".

Michael Finch participated in a 15-person panel made up of YouTube personalities such as Kodi Brown, Kimmi Smiles and Lukus at the 2015 Vintage YouTube Melbourne After Party event.

Michael Finch began his channel ‘makeupbymichaelfinch’ on March 9, 2014 and proceeded to share numerous cosmetic and makeup tutorials on it. He started with the video 'Chit Chat Talk Sh!T GRWM + Trying out new Product'. This was followed by a video in which he demonstrated a neutral makeup look on one of his clients. Finch then came up with more makeup looks, such as “glitter smoky eyes look,” “bronze makeup tutorial,” and “copper and cranberry makeup look” to name a few. Each of these videos gained a decent number of views.

Boosted by the growing success of his channel, he started to post a number of celebrity inspired looks like 'Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup', ‘Kim Kardashian Inspired Dramatic Smoky Eyes,’ etc. Besides makeup tutorials, the makeup artist began to share beauty product review videos as well. These videos were found to be helpful by his viewers and gave them in-depth knowledge and deeper insight about these products. His journey of posting videos continued and Finch eventually became very popular on YouTube.

Today, his channel has earned over 918k subscribers and over 83 million views (as of September 2018). One of the recent videos posted by him is 'Swapping Makeup Bags W/A 14 Year Old’. Published on August 26, 2018, this video features the makeup artist and one of his young friends swapping their makeup collection. Having over 419k views as of now, this video is extremely entertaining and funny.
