Megan Boone was in a relationship with Boston-based artist Dan Estabrook and got engaged to him in 2016. After their daughter Caroline Boone Estabrook’s birth on April 15, 2016, they are now planning to get married.
Currently, Boone is pursuing an MBA in Sustainability from Bard College. She is also selling her own line of organic onesies, called Caroline Agnes.
She strongly feels about climate change, and speaks on the issue at different events, creating awareness about this diabolical real-world threat.
Megan Boone was born on April 29, 1983, in Petoskey, Michigan, to Marcus Boone and Jennifer Parr. When she was a child, her family relocated to The Villages, Florida, a retirement community, to stay closer to her grandparents. Her mother was the director of sales for The Villages, and her grandfather, H. Gary Morse, was the developer of The Villages property.
Boone was keen about acting from a very young age, and therefore studied acting at Belleview High School, from where she graduated in 2001. She further pursued her passion and in 2005, graduated from the School of Theatre, Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.
She also studied at the Asolo Repertory Theatre with Jane Alexander and Edwin Sherin, and did workshops with playwright Mark Medoff.
Megan Boone made her foray into acting with the short film ‘Elijah’ in 2001. In this short film, she played Abigail. After a gap of several years, she was seen in ‘The Mustachioed Bandit Meets His End’ in 2007, where she played the role of Kate. She also starred in the 2007 Los Angeles debut of the Charles L. Mee play ‘Limonade Tous Les Jours’.
A year later, she was seen in the A&E television series ‘The Cleaner’ in its ‘Five Little Words’ episode in 2008. This was followed by ‘Cold Case’, where she played the role of Helen McCormick, in the episode ‘Wings’. It was an American police procedural television series that revolved around a fictionalized Philadelphia Police Department division that specialized in investigating cold cases. It ran on CBS from 2003 to 2010.
She debuted in feature films with the horror film ‘My Bloody Valentine’ 3D in 2009, directed and edited by Patrick Lussier. It was a remake of the 1981 Canadian slasher film of the same name.
This was followed by a supporting role in ‘Sex and the City 2’, a 2010 American romantic comedy film, written, directed and co-produced by Michael Patrick King. It was the sequel to the 2008 film ‘Sex and the City’, based on the 1998 HBO comedy series of the same name.
In 2010, she did a few television series, and earned a name for herself in the television industry. She played the character of Junior Deputy District Attorney Lauren Stanton in the NBC series ‘Law & Order: LA’. It was created and produced by Dick Wolf and developed by Blake Masters, and premiered on NBC.
