Matthew Underwood was born on 23 April 1990 in Fort Pierce, Florida, United States, to Patricia and Jerry Wayne Underwood. He has a sister named Rebecca and two brothers, Joshua and Jacob. He has a cousin named Carrie Underwood who is a country music star. Information regarding Matthew’s education and love life hasn’t been revealed so far.

In April 2017, the actor made headlines for his heroic move when he saved a baby from a car crash. Later, it was revealed that the baby’s parents were under the influence of drugs.

Matthew Underwood started modeling at the age of six months. Before landing his major acting roles, he showed his talent in numerous commercials and TV pilots including ‘E-Venture Kids’, an educational program specializing in teaching of foreign cultures and ‘Kids Line’, a news program based on today’s youth.

In 2003, Matthew voiced the character of Hide in the Nickelodeon’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’. Two years later, he was cast as Logan Reese in the channel’s hit show ‘Zoey 101’. In the year 2006, he entertained the audience with his performance in the flick ‘Casper's Scare School’ in which he voiced the Animated Vampire "Thatch". Three years later, the actor appeared in the movie ‘Reality Horror Night’.

Matthew Underwood came into the limelight in 2012 for the wrong reasons when he was arrested for possession of marijuana. To avoid jail, he pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of weed. Since he was accompanied by his underage girlfriend at that time, he also had to plead no contest to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was again arrested the same year outside his hookah lounge for probation violations.
