Matthew was a supporting actor in the movie ‘Growing Up and Other Lies’ co-directed by Danny Jacobs and Darren Grodsky, playing the part of Peter. The plot of the film, released in 2014, revolved around the vain efforts of an artist trying to make his mark in New York City.

The next year too proved to be very momentous for Daddario as he was selected to play the leading role of Alec Lightwood in the TV series ‘Shadowhunters’ that was to be telecast on Freeform channel. The film was actually a reconstructed version of the 2002 original movie directed by Eli Roth, one of the co-authors.
