Mariqueen Maandig was born as Mariqueen A. Maandig on April 5, 1981 in Philippines. She, along with her family, then moved to the City of Orange Country, USA where she completed her elementary education. Following her high school graduation, she enrolled at a fashion school with the dream of pursuing a professional career as a stylist. However, Maandig later dropped out from there to venture into a musical career.
Talking about the Filipino American artiste’s love life, she got married to American singer, composer, and record producer Trent Reznor in 2009. The following year, she gave birth to his son Lazarus Echo. Later on in 2011, Maandig gave birth to their second son, Balthazar Venn. The couple went on to have two more kids, a son and a daughter (Nova Lux Reznor), later on. Currently, Maandig resides with her husband and children in Beverly Hills, California.
From 2004 to 2009, Maandig served as the vocalist for the Los Angeles based band West Indian Girl. During this time, she helped release the band’s albums ‘West Indian Girl’ and ‘4th & Wall’. She also posed for Playboy’s January 2009 issue and appeared as the ‘Becoming Attraction’ on the magazine.
In 2010, the Filipino American artiste formed the musical group How to Destroy Angels, along with her husband Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The same year, their EP ‘How to Destroy Angels’ was released. Two years later, they released their second EP, ‘An Omen’. Then in 2014, the group released their studio album titled ‘Welcome Oblivion’.
