Mandie Taketa was born on March 3, 1976, in Hawaii, the USA. Her father, Ronald Taketa, who is a Japanese immigrant, serves as the executive secretary and treasurer of the Hawaii Carpenters Union. He previously had been the Honolulu Police Commission Chairman. Taketa’s mother, a woman of European descent, became ill when she was 30 years old. After living with an oxygen tank for 11 years, she passed away.
Since Taketa was a child, she has been interested in dancing, martial arts, and performing. Her father’s active role in her upbringing deeply impacted her. When she was five years old, she started training in martial arts with Ronald as her sensei. From an early age, she showed genuine interest in martial arts and not only competed in the tournaments but also officiated in several matches. Her younger sister, Kristie, began participating in the martial arts competitions in 2009.
Taketa gave more importance to her dancing than she did to martial arts. She took dancing lessons as a child and after she graduated from high school, she received a full dance scholarship from the University of Hawaii. She would attend classes for one year before dropping out. She then travelled to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a professional dancer and actor.
Mandie Taketa is an accomplished dancer. She is a national level gold medallist flyer in acrobatics, cheerleading, and paintball. She is also a renowned bodybuilder who has won several fitness competitions. Furthermore, she has the qualification to work as a yoga instructor and physical therapist.
Taketa’s acting career never really took off. In Irish filmmaker Dermott Petty’s 2007 directorial venture ‘ManBand! the Movie’, she portrayed a character named Vicky. An independent comedy, the film dealt with a multitude of issues, including pop music, reality television, and age discrimination.
She is also a successful entrepreneur. Since February 2003, she has been a body technician at Adell Body Works. Besides this, she has been the creative brain behind This Lifetime since November 1995. In October 2011, she established Everything Did Productions and currently serves as the company’s CEO.
On April 3, 1999, Mandie Taketa became Brady’s second wife. He was previously married to Diana Lasso from December 31, 1993, to September 21, 1995. Taketa gave birth to their daughter, Maile Masako, on February 3, 2003. After being married for seven years, the couple separated in 2006. Taketa filed for divorce on July 2, 2007, and it was finalised on April 14, 2008.
Brady has been vocal about how Taketa helped him deal with his depression. They have decided to raise their daughter together. In fact, Taketa has bought a house in Brady’s neighbourhood so they can co-parent more efficiently.
