Lynda Lopez

In 2002, when Lynda Lopez was working as a DJ for WNEW-FM, she met Chris Booker, a New York based disc jockey. He was also a correspondent for ‘Entertainment Tonight.’ They soon began dating but separated in early 2005.

In August 2008, Lynda and her boyfriend, Adam Goldfried, had a daughter named Lucie Wren Lopez-Goldfried.

Lynda Lopez was born on 14 June 1971, in New York City, in the well-known borough of Bronx. Her parents are Guadalupe Rodriguez, a kindergarten teacher, and David Lopez, a computer specialist. She has two sisters, Jennifer and Leslie.

She completed her schooling in Bronx and graduated from Preston High School in the year 1989. Following this, she went on to study at the C.W. Post Campus of the Long Island University from where she earned her degree in broadcasting and communications.

Lynda Lopez has worked with different radio stations since the early 2000s. She was part of WPIX, a virtual and VHF digital channel, from 2000 to 2002 before spending three years at WCBS which is the flagship station of the CBS television network, located in New York City.

In the year 2007, she had a short stint at WNYW, Channel 5, which is the flagship station of the Fox Television Network, with branches in the cities of New York and New Jersey. In the 2000s, she also worked at WWOR-TV which is the flagship station of the MyNetworkTV programming service, licensed to Secaucus, New Jersey.

Currently, she is working for WCBS-AM owned by Entercom which is a flagship station of the CBS Radio News where she has been working since 2014.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Lynda Lopez was part of the VH1 crew as a VJ, alongside Kane and Rebecca Rankin. In the year 2000 she interviewed her own sister Jennifer, who at the time was a famous pop music star, in a special show on VH1. In the show, the duo spoke extensively of their childhoods and J-Lo’s rise to stardom. Several of Jennifer Lopez’s songs were played during the show, including her then-latest billboard hit ‘Feelin’ So Good’ which made its premiere at VH1.

Around this time, Lynda was also working as a morning news entertainment reporter for the WB11 in New York City. She later became a co-host of Style Network’s show ‘GLOW’ in the year 2002. This was a cable TV show which dealt with women’s beauty issues.

She also worked as an entertainment reporter during this period of her career. As an entertainment reporter, she worked simultaneously for WNBC-TV, E! News Live, and WNJU which was a Spanish language television network.

In late 2003, she joined WCBS-TV as a part-time correspondent. After several months there, she was appointed as the anchor of WCBS’ weekend morning show in August 2004. This was her first ever anchoring job. But for certain reasons which weren’t disclosed, Lynda received little to no coverage on-air from early 2006 and subsequently left her job at WCBS-TV in June 2006.

Lynda Lopez made her debut as a co-anchor with Mike Gilliam on the WWOR-TV show ‘My 9 Weekend News at 10’ on July 29 2006. The channel was owned by News-Corp. After this, she moved to WNYW-TV’s ‘Good Day New York’ in 2007. She was then made anchor of ‘Fox 5 Live’ for the 11am timeslot. On Fox 5 she was joined by Reid Lamberty, who was also formerly employed by WNYW-TV.
