Lulu was born on October 9, 2003, in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California. She is her parents’ only child. Lulu has stated that she wanted to act for as long as she can remember. After she turned three, she had a conversation with her parents wherein she told them that she wanted to be an actor like the children on TV. Her parents informed her that she needed an agent for that and suggested that she should start with theatre. They elaborated that if she still wanted to pursue acting as a career after a few years, then they would have another conversation about getting her an agent. She agreed and started performing at local theatre productions when she was four years old.
Lulu appeared in a variety of plays in the next six years. She acted in productions of ‘Mary Poppins,’ ‘Peter Pan,’ ‘Annie,’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ as well as several original productions. However, her favourite remained the Shakespearean plays. She particularly loved playing Puck in a production of ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’.
Besides acting, she was interested in singing and was even the lead singer and guitarist in a band for two years. She is also training to be a dancer. Her favourite forms are ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop.
Lulu met her current agent at an acting showcase when she was ten years old. She was immediately signed and appeared in a series of commercials. Cast in national advertising campaigns for Hasbro, Comcast, Yoplait and a few others, she made the best use of the opportunities. Furthermore, these commercials led to her initial acting jobs.
In 2014, she made her debut with ‘Draw My Dream’, a video short about children’s wild dreams brought to life. Directed by Jason Perlman, the project also starred Shanynn Samiyah Covington and Gillian Alaire Espina. Her next appearance was in the season two episode ‘Gillian's Island Cooking Show’ on ‘AwesomenessTV’. In the 2015 comedy show ‘Zen Jen’, she was cast as the titular character Jen. However, the show was cancelled before airing an episode.
She guest-starred as Ali in the episode ‘Picnicking Like a Bro’ on DreamWorksTV’s ‘Hopeless Bromantic’, as Annie in the episode ‘Babysitting’ of AwesomenessTV Production’s ‘Cheerleaders’ and as Cleo Kibble in the eponymous episode of Nick Jr.’s ‘Mutt & Stuff’.
In 2015, she became part of DreamWorks Television’s ‘OMG!’, a series of creative and hilarious sketch shows that effortlessly blend live action and animated comedy together. She appeared in seven episodes, ‘Sick Cheerleaders & Social Media’ (2015), ‘Runaway Bikes & Bad Yearbook Photos’ (2015), ‘Noses, Kissing, & Gongs’ (2015), ‘Disappearing Friends & Too Close for Comfort’ (2015), ‘Yearbook Photo Fail’ (2015), ‘Monsters Coming Out of My TV!’ (2016), and ‘Birthdays, Bad News & a Mummy (2016).
In 2016, Lulu was cast in the most significant role of her career yet, as Ellie Peters in Disney Channel’s comedy television series ‘Stuck in the Middle’. Ellie is the best friend of Harley Diaz (Jenna Ortega), the protagonist of the show, and the daughter of Bethany Peters (Lauren Pritchard). She and Harley’s sister Georgie (Kayla Maisonet) are members of the same basketball team. In the season one episode ‘Stuck in Harley’s Comet’, it is shown that Ellie is afraid of heights, darkness, and birds. Lulu portrays her as a sheltered child who has not experienced certain things that a normal teenager generally would have because of her overprotective mother. Lulu has appeared in 12 episodes in total to date.
