He spent twelve years in Stevensville, Maryland and grew interested in acting because of his mother. He loves adventure sports like whitewater rafting and also enjoys singing, dancing, as well as writing music.
Luke Kleintank credits his mother for his acting career as she is the one who introduced him to acting. He used to take part in his school stage productions and also in the community theatres during his early days. Later he went to New York to pursue his acting career and made his first appearance on television with the role of ‘Greg’ in an episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’.
In 2010 he played a very challenging role of a bisexual character, ‘Elliot Leichter’, the love interest of ‘Eric van der Woodsen’ in the American teen drama television series ‘Gossip Girl’. He played the role in ten episodes between 2010 and 2011. Later he played the role of ‘Noah Newman’ in the series ‘The Young and the Restless’ in 2010. After the success of ‘Bones’, Luke played the roles of ‘Tom Granger’ in ‘CSI: Miami’, ‘Connor’ in ‘The Good Wife’, ‘Caleb Phipps’ in ‘The Person of Interest’, and ‘Jake’ in ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’. In 2013 he landed the role of ‘Travis Hobbs’ in the American teen drama mystery thriller television series ‘Pretty Little Liars’.
In 2015, Luke was signed for his first ever lead role in any production as he portrayed the character of ‘Joe Blake’ in the American dystopian alternative history television series ‘The Man in the High Castle’, co-produced by the Amazon Studios. The series was based on the original novel written by science fiction author Philip K. Dick and portrays a divided America, the Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States, post World War II.
Luke is primarily an established television actor and is yet to make it big in films; however, he has appeared in quite a few movies like ‘Dark House’, ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Phantom Halo’ and ‘Max’ between 2012 and 2015.
