Luke, unlike his brothers, Chris and Liam, prefers to stay away from the spotlight and paparazzi. Luke met his wife, Samantha Hemsworth, in 2006. After dating for a year, the couple tied the knot in 2007.
In 2009, the couple welcomed their first child - a daughter. They named her Holly. In 2010, they welcomed their second child, named Ella.
In 2012, the couple was blessed with another baby girl, Harper Rose. The couple’s fourth child, their first son, was born in 2013 and was named Alexandre.
Luke was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on November 5, 1980. His mother, Leonie was an English teacher, while his father, Craig Hemsworth, was a social service councilor in Australia.
Luke has an English, Irish, Scottish, German, and Dutch ancestry. His maternal grandfather was a Dutch immigrant.
Following his brothers’ footsteps, he was brought up in an acting favored environment and was put into the National Institute of Dramatic Art for his training in acting.
After completing his training at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, he immediately made his TV debut in the Australian soap opera produced by Seven Network, ‘Neighbours’.
Gaining popularity through his debut role, Luke continued to sign up for roles in more TV shows. During 2003 to 2007, he was a part of several known TV series, appearing in short roles for two or three episodes. He appeared in ‘The Saddle Club’, ‘Blue Heelers’, ‘Last Man Standing’, ‘All Saints’, and ‘Satisfaction’, to name a few.
In 2008, Australian Television saw the return of the popular TV series ‘Neighbours’. However, Luke reprised his role as John Carter in just 3 episodes. He was seen in guest roles in soaps including ‘The Elephant Princess’, ‘Carla Cametti PD’, ‘The Bazura Project’, and others.
He was a part of the mini-series ‘Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms’. He played Gregory “Shadow” Campbell in it. The six-part mini-series portrayed bikie gang violence and their lifestyle. The show opened to good ratings and peaked at 1.43 million viewers.
In 2014 and later until 2015, he was cast for major roles in films like ‘Infini’, ‘Kill me Three Times’, ‘The Anomaly’, and ‘The Reckoning’. Infini premiered at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival in 2015. However, due to fear of piracy, the film did not release in Australia.
In November 2015, Luke, along with his brothers, Liam and Chris, attended a fundraiser event to raise funds for the Australian Childhood Foundation, an organization that provides safety and looks after children who have been victims of abuse or have come from homes with domestic violence.
He made a brief appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’, popularly known as SNL, an American late-night comedy show with his brother Liam, when Chris Hemsworth hosted SNL.
The Australian TV show ‘Neighbours’ is considered as one of Luke’s major acting works. He made his TV debut through the soap opera and was considered a hit in Australia. He was even cast in the 2008 edition of the series.

‘The Reckoning’ was Luke Hemsworth’s first major film. It was an Australian crime thriller. He was cast in it along with actors like Jonathan Lapaglia, Viva Bianca, and Hanna Mangan-Lawrence.
