Lukas Forchhammer was born on 18 September 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark. His father, who was Irish, worked repairing and refurbishing old household items while his mother served as a night-shift cleaner. Forchhammer spent a major part of his childhood years in Ireland. In 2012, his father died of a heart attack, at the age of 61.
Forchhammer is also referred to as the Duke/Luke the Duke. He has worked in a writing team called Future Animals as well.
Coming to the singer’s love life, he is in a long-term relationship with Marie-Louise Schwartz. He became the father of a baby girl in 2016.
Lukas Forchhammer formed the band Lukas Graham along with Magnus Larsson and Mark "Lovestick" Falgren in 2011. He initially uploaded the songs titled "Criminal Mind" and "Drunk in the Morning" on YouTube and Facebook. After the videos went viral, Forchhammer and his bandmates became famous. In 2012, the band released their first self-titled studio album with the labels Then We Take the World and Copenhagen Records. The following year, the band signed with one of the most renowned record labels, Warner Bros. Records.
After this, Forchhammer and his band came up with their second album—the Blue Album—in 2015. The album’s singles "7 Years" and "Mama Said" became huge hits and earned worldwide recognition. On 1 April 2016, Lukas Graham’s self-titled global debut was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Records. In 2017, the band performed the track "Off To See The World" that was later featured on the soundtrack of the flick ‘My Little Pony: The Movie’.
Lukas Forchhammer first starred in the 1991 flick ‘Krummerne’ (The Crumbles). He then went on to act in the sequels of the movie, such as ‘Krummerne 2 – Stakkels Krumme’ (The Crumbles 2: Poor Crumble), ‘Krummerne 3 – Fars gode idé (The Crumbles 3: Dad’s Good Idea) and Krummernes Jul (The Crumble's Christmas).
