A talent agent discovered Lucas during an audition for a Disney talent search at the Chicago-based talent agency, ‘Paskal Rudnicke Casting.’ He made his acting debut as part of an ensemble cast of a 2012 stage production of the famous musical, ‘Oliver!’ presented by ‘Music Theater Works’ (erstwhile ‘Light Opera Works’). He appeared in a cameo role of Punk #2 in a single episode of science fiction drama web television series ‘Sense8.’ The episode titled ‘Death Doesn't Let You Say Goodbye’ was aired during season one of the Netflix series on June 5, 2015. His first major role came with the supernatural horror film, ‘Sinister 2.’ He played ‘Milo’ in the film that also starred James Ransone and Shannyn Sossamon. The film received unfavourable reviews, but became a blockbuster hit grossing over $54 million at the box-office against a budget of $10 million.
He portrayed ‘Henry Perry’ in the 2016 adventure comedy film, ‘Thrill Ride.’ The film also starred Kristen Johnston and Tim Kazurinsky.
