Lonzo is currently dating Denise Garcia, a soccer player from Women’s Division I. Garcia has played professionally for ‘University of California,’ Riverside, and ‘Seattle University.’
The couple has been together since their high school days. Lonzo and Garcia are also expecting their first child together.
Lonzo is also a rapper and released his first rap single ‘Melo Ball 1’ in September 2017. The song was an ode to his younger brother, LaMelo.
Lonzo Anderson Ball was born on October 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. His parents, Lavar and Tina Ball, were also basketball players.
Lonzo started playing basketball at the age of two and never stopped thereafter. He initially spent his time playing basketball with his brothers, LiAngelo, and LeMalo, who are also basketball players.
He attended ‘Chino Hills High School’ in Chino Hills, California. In 2015, he signed a ‘National Letter of Intent’ to attend the prestigious ‘University of California,’ Los Angeles (UCLA) and play for ‘UCLA Bruins.’
During his junior year in 2014-15, he scored 25 points, 11 rebounds, 9.1 assists, and 5 blocks on an average.
During his senior year, he led his team ‘Huskies’ to a scintillating 35-0 win, along with a state title. His younger brothers, LiAngelo and LeMalo, were also a part of the team, which was then ranked No.1 in the country.
After joining ‘UCLA’ in 2016, Lonzo, along with fellow freshman, T.J Leaf, transformed the fate of ‘Bruins.’ He left no stone unturned in making ‘Bruins’ the top scoring offense in the country
The transformation began against the ‘Pacific’ when he scored 19 points and helped in 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. Later, he led his team to win the championship match against ‘Texas A&M.’
His team’s victory against ‘Texas A&M’ got him the ‘MVP’ of the ‘Wooden Legacy’ tournament. He remained in the ‘Wooden Award’ list until the mid-season along with the only other ‘UCLA’ candidate, T.J Leaf.
Ball was selected to by ‘Los Angeles Lakers’ to play in the ‘2017 NBA Draft,’ on June 22, 2017. He was the second pick, overall, and was signed for a four-year contract.
His performance in the ‘2017 NBA Summer League Tournament’ went far beyond everybody’s expectations. Ball scored on an average of 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks in each game, along with two triple-doubles, first ever by a new comer in Vegas.
On October 20, 2017, he scored 11 rebounds and 9 assists against ‘Phoenix Suns,’ which became his career high with overall 29 points. His team had a 132-130 win over ‘Phoenix Suns.’
His more than 10 assists also became first in the history of the league. In the next match, Ball became the youngest player ever to get 10 assists in a single game against ‘New Orleans Pelicans’ in a 119-112 loss to the latter.
In the next game, his team lost to ‘Milwaukee Bucks’ but Ball became the youngest player to achieve a triple-double feat. On November 19, 2017, he achieved his second triple-double in a 127-109 win over ‘Denver Nuggets.’
