Linda Lavin was born on October 15, 1937 in Portland, Maine, USA, to Lucille and David J. Lavin. She has a sister named Jocelyn Pollard. She studied at the Waynflete School and later graduated from the College of William & Mary.
Talking about the American artiste’s love life, she first married Ron Leibman in 1969. This marriage ended in a divorce. Her second marriage to Kip Niven also did not last forever. She later married her third husband Steve Bakunas in 2005. Lavin has no biological kids.
Linda Lavin started her career on stage in 1962 with a Broadway appearance in ‘A Family Affair’. After this, she had a role in the off-Broadway productions ‘Wet Paint’ and ‘The Mad Show’. She then appeared in a featured role in the 1966 musical titled ‘It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman’. In 1969, the actress performed in the plays ‘Last of the Red Hot Lovers’ and ‘Little Murders’.
During 1986 and 1987, she played Kate in Simon's ‘Broadway Bound’. Soon after this, she made appearance in ‘Gypsy’. In the year 2000, she was cast as Marjorie in ‘The Tale of the Allergist's Wife’. In 2010, Lavin portrayed the character of Ruth Steiner in the play ‘Collected Stories’. She then appeared in Nicky Silver’s play titled ‘The Lyons’ in September 2011.
