Lee Sung-kyung was born on August 10, 1990 in Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea. She studied at the Dongduk Women's University and graduated from there on February 22, 2016. In April 2017, she started dating actor Nam Joo-hyuk. Before her relationship with Nam, she was rumoured to have dated musicians like Kang Seung Yoon, Eddy Kim and Song Min-ho. As of September 2017, she is reportedly single, having broken up with Nam recently.
Lee Sung-kyung started her career as a model in 2008 by participating in a local Super Model Contest. The following year, she modelled at the International Asia Pacific Super Model Contest where she was placed 5th. After this, Lee appeared in music videos for Simon D, Lee Hyun, and Kang Seung-yoon for their songs ‘Stay Cool’, ‘Because It's You’ and ‘Wild and Young’ respectively. She then made her acting debut in 2014 in the TV drama ‘It's Okay, That's Love’. The same year, she served as a cast member and appeared as a guest in the variety shows ‘Bible’ and ‘Running Man’ respectively.
After this, she did the TV series ‘Queen's Flower’ and appeared in an episode of the variety show ‘Happy Together’. Then in 2016, Lee did several television projects such as ‘Cheese in the Trap’, ‘Doctor Crush’, ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo’, ‘Taxi’, ‘Radio Star’, ‘Sugarman’ and ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’. That year, she also got featured in the music videos for artists Eddy Kim and Akdong Musician for their songs ‘My Lips like Warm Coffee’ and ‘Re-Bye’ respectively. The following year, Lee acted in the series ‘While You Were Sleeping’. She also voiced the character of ‘Poppy’ in the movie ‘Trolls’.
