He developed interest towards rap music at a young age and started listening to Drill-music. Drill-music or simply referred to as ‘drill’ originated in Chicago and deals with the day-to-day lives of gang members. Since the lyrics are often based on drugs and violence, drill can often fascinate the youngsters. Young Capone too was inspired by the gangster lifestyle.

At the age of 12, he became friends with ‘Lil Durk’ and eventually joined the famed ‘Black Disciples’ gang, which had rappers like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. Leonard Anderson soon assumed his stage name ‘LA Capone’ and started rapping with the likes of RondoNumbaNine.

In 2011, Lil Durk formed a collective called ‘Only the Family,’ which included LA Capone in the mix. Soon, LA Capone started appearing in song videos with the likes of RondoNumbaNine, which made him famous.

He also started appearing in Lil Durk’s videos and posted several of his music videos on social media platforms like YouTube and Twitter. He then started gaining prominence as a social media star as his official Instagram account gathered more than 100,000 followers.

Right from his music videos to his social media posts, LA Capone displayed his lifestyle, which included his love for smoking marijuana. He was also inspired by the gangster lifestyle, which reflected in many of his songs.

Though LA Capone did not get an opportunity to release his own mixtape when he was alive, a mixtape named ‘King LA’ was released post his death by his fellow rappers and friends. The mixtape consists of some of Capone’s most popular songs, such as ‘Round Here,’ ‘Play for Keeps,’ ‘So loud,’ and ‘The Gat.’

As he was about to get into his car, an unknown assailant started firing at him. One of the bullets hit Capone on his thigh and it went all the way to his lower back.

Capone was rushed to the ‘Northwestern Memorial Hospital,’ where he passed away at 8:30 pm due to loss of blood. LA Capone was just 17 years old at the time of his demise. Since Capone belonged to a gang named ‘600,’ he had many foes from rival gangs, such as ‘Gangster Disciples’ and ‘051 Young Money.’ Hence many believed that someone from one of his rival gangs must have been behind his death.
