Kristin Herrera was born in Los Angeles, California, on 21 February 1989. In spite of her successful professional life, she has managed to maintain a very low profile as far as her personal life is concerned. She is of Mexican-American and Puerto Rican descent. She has two elder brothers, Ryan and Justin, and a sister, Ashley. In 2016, she announced via Instagram that she is engaged.
Kristin Herrera began her career as an actress at a very early age. Even though she mainly played minor roles, her portrayals have been convincing irrespective of the time she got to play them onscreen. She got her acting break in 2001 when she played the role of Elena Rodriguez in the TV soap opera ‘NYPD Blue’. After that there was no turning back for her as she got to appear in popular shows like ‘7th Heaven’ (played Katie), ‘The Division’ (portrayed Aimee Varga), ‘The Bernie and Mac Show’ (as Sophia), and ‘ER’ (as Fredrika Meehan). The highest point of her acting career came in 2005 when she starred as Dana Cruz, the leading character, in the serial ‘Zoey 101’. This was a comedy drama based on the lives of American teenager Zoey Brooks and her brother Dustin Brooks when they attend Pacific Coast Academy in Southern California. Kristin Herrera featured as Dana Cruz in season 1 of this television soap opera. Around the same period, from 2004-08, she played the role of Lourdes Del Torro in the show ‘General Hospital’.
In 2006, she featured in ‘Without a Trace’ as Rose Martinez. Kristin’s versatile talents soon led her to the big screen as well. Her role as Gloria Munez in ‘Freedom Writers’ (released in 2007) was appreciated by the press and public alike. In the same year, another feature film featuring her, ‘Resurrection Mary’ was also released. Her portrayal of Karen in the film won her millions of fans across the world. Despite her flourishing career, she retired early; her last appearance on television was in the show ‘General Hospital’ in 2008.
