Kim Marie Kessler gained media attention after she began dating famous WWE wrestler Randy Orton in 2012 amidst his divorce bid from previous wife Samantha Speno. It made news headlines after Orton's six years old marriage to Speno crumbled in early 2012, with Speno filing for divorce citing "irretrievably broken marriage". The divorce was finalized in June 2013, but Kessler was already dating him since March 2012.

From the beginning, they never tried to hide their relationship from the media, and often appeared at public events together. While the media has covered the development of their romance and subsequent marriage in detail, she also kept providing regular updates about her personal life since she joined Twitter in 2014. From a die-hard fan of the WWE star, her journey to become his wife has been featured on several news outlets, earning her celebrity status in the process.

After her relationship with Randy Orton was confirmed, Kim Marie Kessler was accused of being a 'gold digger' in the social media. She also courted controversy for reportedly deleting several of his fan mail tweets. She was stalked and harassed by a fan named Kayla Gomez, against whom she and her then-boyfriend Orton teamed up on social media to call her out as 'Ms. Piggy'.

Gomez had also stalked Randy Orton even before he knew who she was and had snapped a picture of him outside of a gym in Texas, which she later posted online. Soon after, he tweeted the same photo to Kim Marie Kessler telling her she could have had a good laugh had she been there with him to meet "the Latino Ms. Piggy". Kim responded to the post by commenting "Your (sic) not the only one who can play games". Addressing the issue following SmackDown taping in Laredo, Texas, he said that he had blocked Gomez for stalking and harassing Kessler, but she kept stalking him for pictures. He also asked her to get a life or troll someone else.

A regular WWE viewer, Kim Marie Kessler was a big fan of Randy Orton long before the two met in person. She told Renee Young during an interview that "In my brain, way before I met him, he was my boyfriend". Orton's pictures were all around her house, which he also witnessed after they met. They first met at a WWE event in New York, where she lived. Interestingly, it was Orton who first approached her, and despite him being the celebrity, he reportedly felt nervous asking her name.

The two began dating in 2012, after Randy separated from his first wife, former gymnast instructor Samantha Speno, whom he had married back in 2007. He has a child from his first marriage, a daughter named Alanna Marie Orton, while Kim is also a divorcee and has three boys from her past marriage.

Randy finally proposed to her during a candlelit dinner while spending a vacation together in Bora Bora in July 2015. Taken by surprise, she reportedly started laughing immediately as "all of these emotions hit her at once". She shared the image of the ring on July 6, 2015 on Twitter, confirming that he proposed and she accepted his proposal. The two subsequently got married four months later on November 14, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both his daughter and her three sons witnessed the wedding. Orton is very close to her three boys, with whom he often shares pictures on social media. The step-siblings also get along very well and are close to each other as well.

In 2016, she became pregnant with a baby girl and documented her pregnancy on social media by sharing pictures with her fans. She gave birth to their first child together, a daughter named Brooklyn Rose Orton, on November 22, 2016. The couple has a dog named Spike whom they adopted after finding him on a hiking trip while vacationing in Bora Bora.
