Kim Dickens is a very reserved person and there is not much information available about her personal Life. According to some sources, she married her boyfriend Alexander Rockwell in 1986 and the couple got divorced in 1996.
She is currently married to Canadian Entrepreneur, Ken Dixon, and the couple has one daughter
Kim Dickens was born on 18 June 1965, at Huntsville, Alabama, to Justin Dickens and Pam (Clark) Howell. Her father was a country-western singer.
She completed her school education from Lee High School in Hunstville, Alabama and went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
After her graduation, she shifted to New York and there she pursued her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. During this time, she also worked as a waitress to financially support herself. Kim Dickens later graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In the late 1990s, she shifted to Los Angeles.
Kim Dickens began her work in the entertainment industry with theatre performances. Her stage debut was a student production of the play ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’, at Vanderbilt University’.
A few years later, in 1995, she made her feature film debut with comedy ‘Palookaville’. Soon after she was part of television films like the ‘Voice from the Grave’ and ‘Two Mothers for Zachary’.
In 1998, she played a part in the film adaptation of the Charles Dickens's novel ‘Great Expectations’. Between 1998 and 1999 she got to play leading roles in movies ‘Zero Effect’, ‘Mercury Rising’ and ‘The White River Kid’.
In 2000, Kim Dickens was part of quite a few significant films. She co-starred in like ‘Committed’ against Heather Graham, ‘Hollow Man’ with Elisabeth Shue and Kevin Bacon, and ‘The Gift’ starring Cate Blanchett. In 2001, her performance in the independent movie ‘Things Behind the Sun’ was highly appreciated and she won a nomination for Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for her performance in the movie.
During this period, she also began work in television projects. Between 2004 and 2006, she was part of the series ‘Deadwood’. Other projects that she was part of include ‘Numb3rs’, ‘Lost’, ’12 Miles of Bad Road’ and so on. Her movie projects during this time included ‘House of Sand and Fog’, ‘Thank You for Smoking’, ‘Wild Tigers I Have Known’ and ‘Red’.
Kim Dicken's performance in the independent film, ‘Things Behind the Sun’, and the HBO western ‘Deadwood’ was highly appreciated. She was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead for the former and for Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for the latter.
