Khalil Rountree was born on February 6, 1990 in Los Angeles, California, United States. At the age of two, he lost his father who was shot in an attempted robbery while serving as tour manager of the American R&B vocal group, Boyz II Men.

Then in 2016, he competed on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Cláudia. Rountree won the first round via knockout but lost the elimination round via submission. Later on, he was brought back for the semi-final round as one of the players withdrew himself from the game due to an injury. Rountree went on to win via knockout in the 1st round and headed to the finale.
On July 8, 2016, the American MMA made his promotional debut at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and fought against Andrew Sanchez. Unfortunately, he lost the match via unanimous decision. Then in November, he faced Tyson Pedro and submitted via rear-naked choke in the first round.
Rountree’s third fight was with Daniel Jolly at the UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs. Korean Zombie in February 2017. He won in the first round via knockout. Then in July, he fought against Paul Craig and again won via knockout in round 1. Rountree was about to face Gökhan Saki in December 2017. However the latter backed off due to injury and was replaced by Michal Oleksiejczuk. Rountree lost this fight.
