Kevin Quinn was born on May 21 1997 in Chicago and was brought up in Illinois. His parents are Brian Quinn, an advertising professional and Tamara Quinn, a social activist. He also has a twin sister, with whom he is extremely close.

While in school, Kevin played house league basketball and wanted to make a career in the game. He played well for his age and was quite popular among the seniors as well. However, a change of thoughts occurred, and he felt himself drifting towards performing arts. He sidelined basketball and focused all his attention on honing his acting chops and singing while participating in school level competitions.

Kevin Quinn became one of the contestants on the American Idol for its season 12 and although he didn’t end up as the winner, he had a huge impact on the judges and the audiences while many of the guest judges praised his voice and prophesized that he will be a big star someday. He ended up being one of the top 60 male voices of the country in that season of the famous reality show.

A few months later, Kevin was signed on to portray the character of Johnny in the Steppenwolf theatre’s ‘Lord of the Flies’. The theatre piece was directed by Halena Kays and was met with acclaim. Later, Kevin focused his attention on the classic theatre and bagged the role of Henry V as a boy in the Chicago Shakespeare theatre’s production based on the great medieval king. Critics fell short of praises for the unknown young actor and his performance was termed as ‘mature and honest’.

Kevin then went on to be seen on two episodic TV shows, ‘Shameless’ and ‘Chicago PD’. In the latter one he plays the role of Nate Hansen, a young teenager who is going through a lot of hardships in order to keep his family safe. Kevin also has to his credit, an educational film titled ‘Screen’ which was made by DePaul University to educate the youth about the horrors of technology. He plays Tommy in the movie, a young man obsessed with TV and girls. With a 2015 indie film, Kevin made his feature film debut. The film is titled ‘Kids and Ghosts’ and Kevin plays a bully who unknowingly wakes up evil souls and falls in the pits of danger.

Kevin has an extensive training in singing which helped him gain popularity in New Trier High School’s choirs. Kevin also used to be a key part of the Midwest Young Artists ‘VX-Voice Ensemble’, a prolific and experienced in-studio recording group which functioned under the direction of Gary Fry, an Emmy Award recipient. Kevin has also been an integral part of the renowned Children's Theater of Winnetka, where he performed in two of the biggest of their ventures ‘Good News’ and ‘My Fair Lady’. The famous group previously had some famed names attached to it such as Betsy Morgan, the popular Broadway actress, and Beck Bennett, one of the present cast members of the Comedy Night Live.
